Troubleshooting Your Burner/AC Unit

Try these troubleshooting procedures before you call for emergency service. Many times, your unit can be "fixed" without the need of a technician.

*Troubleshoot*

IF THE OIL BURNER FAILS TO OPERATE: 1. Be sure that the oil burner switch is on. 2. The thermostat should be set ABOVE room temperature. 3. Check the battery in the thermostat. (Digital Thermostats only) 4. Make sure that there is oil in the tank. 5. Press re-set button on relay ONE TIME ONLY!! 6. Check to see if the flame comes on. 7. If burner does not run AT ALL, check for a blown or loose fuse. If burner still fails to operate--CALL FOR EMERGENCY SERVICE (631) 467-6646 IF YOUR CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING UNIT FAILS TO OPERATE: 1. Check your circuit breaker and fuses. 2. The thermostat should be set BELOW room temperature. 3. Check the filters. 4. Check the battery in the thermostat. (Digital Thermostats only) 5. Check UNITS for ice, leaks, and signs of freezing.
